Lanit-Tercom is making golf games safer and game results pin-point
Portugal, 6 March 2009 – Lanit-Tercom has successfully tested ThruPutt beta-release in one of the Portuguese golf clubs. ThruPutt implementation and introduction took place the day before the start of the 2009 golf game season. ThruPutt is a web application that enables monitoring of golfers position on the golf field during the game by the means of GPS. Every golfer is given a GPS device that transmits his position to the central server. The golf club itself is equipped with LCD-monitor with a map of the golf field. Specific signs define the groups of players on the field. The groups of golfers that overrun a schedule are marked by a definite color. It is crucial, as in terms of safety the groups can not be situated in immediate proximity to each other.
The solution provides a detailed calculation of game results, start-list forms, cards with scores, general results and winners lists. Such features considerably simplify the work of golf management and golfers. With this new web application Lanit-Tercom is providing golfers community with the maps calibration, GPS devices, games reservation, club information and users’ control. In addition, all signals received from GPS in the moment when the golfer hits the ball, are recorded into a database.
Lanit-Tercom is in the forefront of the GPS-based web applications for golf industry. Currently, ThruPutt does not have any analogues on the market. This product is a breakthrough for the world golf-community.
